Flatbread (Milk)

From recipetineats cookbook Dinner. Keeping it in a teatowel is a great trick, makes them soft.

Ingredients

  • Butter 50 grams
  • Milk 0.75 cups
  • Plain flour 2 cups
  • Salt 0.5 tsp

Steps

  1. Melt butter and milk in saucepan.
  2. Pour flour, salt and milk mix into bowl, mix with wooden spoon.
  3. Turn out onto floured workspace and knead until smooth.
  4. Shape into ball, put in bowl, cover with plastic wrap and leave for 30 minutes.
  5. Break into 6 pieces, roll flat and thin (stop them sticking with extra flour).
  6. Cook in frypan on high heat without oil, for 1.5 min until puffed up and golden, flip and cook for another 1 min. Wrap loosely in teatowel and repeat.
