Fettuccine Alfredo

From allrecipes, cooked for Darcy when he first came around to the apartment. Way too oily, maybe too much cheese. A very simple flavour. Needs veggies, can throw in spinach. Serve with shaved parmesan and maybe a simple salad.

Ingredients

  • Fettuccine pasta 500 grams (1 pack)
  • Brown onions 1 whole
  • Peas (frozen) 1 cup
  • Butter 250 grams
  • Double cream 1.5 cups
  • Parmesan 1 cup
  • Pizza cheese 0.25 cups
  • Garlic salt to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Chop onions
  2. Fry onions over high heat, then drop heat back once they brown
  3. Bring pot of water to boil and add fettuccine, cook for 8-10 minutes then drain.
  4. Chop butter into blocks and melt into cream in saucepan over low heat.
  5. Grate parmesan.
  6. Add cheese, salt, pepper, garlic salt into saucepan and cook until thickened.
  7. Combine sauce, vegetables and pasta, serve.
