A common sense recipe, roughly what we did at Dads. Not much else to say.

  • Water 2 litres
  • Brown onions 1 whole
  • Beef mince (3 star) 500 grams
  • seasoning

  • Taco spice mix 2 tbsp (atleast)
  • Cumin 2 tsp
  • Garlic powder 1 tsp
  • Onion powder 1 tsp
  • Tomato paste 1 tbsp
  • Carrots 1 whole
  • Tomato 1 whole
  • Red onion 1 whole
  • Iceberg lettuce 0.25 heads
  • Avocado 1 whole
  • Lemon 0.5 whole
  • White wraps 6 whole
  • Shredded tasty cheese 1 cup
  • Sour cream to taste

Steps

  1. Boil water in a kettle and then transfer to a pot on high heat, add rice and boil for 30 minutes uncovered.
  2. Dice brown onions finely, 5 mm.
  3. Heat oil to high in a large frypan and add onions. Fry for 3 min.
  4. Remove onions to bowl, get pan hot again and add beef. After a moment, add tomato paste, seasonings and then onions. Fry for 10 min.
  5. Drain rice thoroughly then place back in pot, covered, for 10 minutes. (Leave pot on the just switched off burner).
  6. Grate carrot. Finely dice tomato, red onion and lettuce.
  7. Mash avocado with a fork, place in bowl and squeeze some lemon juice over top, mix through.
  8. Remove beef to bowl, draining and separating fat.
  9. Warm wraps in frypan with some of the fat from the beef.
  10. Place veggies, cheese and sour cream into bowls. Assemble at table.
