Anzac Biscuits

From Nanna’s old recipes, which used ounce measurements, since converted. Simple and chewy, keeps well.

Ingredients

  • Rolled oats 1 cup
  • Plain flour 1 cup
  • Butter 125 grams (4 oz)
  • Bi-carb 1.5 tsp
  • Coconut 0.75 cups
  • Brown sugar 1 cup
  • Golden syrup 1 tbsp
  • Water (hot) 2 tbsp

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees
  2. Mix oats, sugar, coconut, melt syrup and butter together, mix bi-carb and water, add to butter/syrup
  3. Mix all together, stir well and add flour
  4. Spoon onto tray and bake at 160 degrees for 12 minutes
